On February 16, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman officially announced that Peter Steinberger, founder of OpenClaw, will join OpenAI to work on developing the next generation of personal agents, "which is expected to soon become the core of our products."
Altman promised that OpenClaw will remain as an open-source project within the foundation, and OpenAI will continue to support it. The future will be an era of high multi-agentization, and supporting open-source is a key component for OpenAI to achieve this goal.
